Hey everyone, I think I'm relapsing. After a over year of trying to eat "normally", all I've done is maintain an obese BMI, and so I've decided to start the ABC diet. This is somewhat an accountability post, but not quite- I want to talk with people about their ABC diet experiences, as well as encourage people like me with heavier BMIs <3

Monday, 1pm. 100/500 cals.

Weight: 176ibs.

What I've had so far: Lots of water, vitamins/meds, coffee, an egg.

Exercise: As of right now, absolutely no exercise, it is rainy as hell.

By the way, I haven't posted here on MPA in a while, if my post is in the wrong place, please let me know and I will move it! <3

Title says it all. Please help, I didn't think I was eating too much but I've been trying to get into the 160s after being in the 170's for so long, started light restricting and then b/ping because I got lazy, but now I'm 180 and I'm freaking the hell out because I wanted to be in the 160s for my beach trip at the end of the month, I don't know if I can manage to a) not b/p or B) restrict with the abc or 2468 diets. I just needed to let this out, I'm so ashamed and embarrassed. If any of you guys can give me some advice on what to do that would be amazing, thank you <3

Hello, sorry that you are struggling. :< Restriction leads to more b/p, so if you wanna stop b/p, I think the best way would be to eat at your maintenance. Then when the urges are not as strong anymore, you can slowly lower the calorie limit down, maybe try eating a few hundred calories under your TDEE. It will take longer to lose weight this way than following those diets, but this way is more sustainable and will help you lose more weight in the long run. Personally, I b/p a lot when I restrict. Eating more helps me control the urges. I still b/p, but not as often when I eat more. I know my advice is not the best. This is really difficult to deal with, however I promise everything is going to be okay. Good luck. <3

Personally, I find myself less inclined to bp if I'm reasonable satiated. My suggestion would be to look into high volume/low cal foods combined with an adequate protein intake...like a 3 oz serving of shrimp or tilapia (70 - 80 cals), served with like a shitload of cooked spinach (like 5 cals/cup) would keep you satisfied enough to maybe deflect an oncoming binge.

Thank you guys for your responses, it means a lot. I'll work on finding a good steady calorie intake and work my way down from there + add in more filling foods. <3

I keep making these accountability pages and never using them, maybe this time I will! Currently, I stand at just shy of 5'5 and weigh about 185lbs with a bmi of about 30. I don't want to show pictures at the moment because I'm really ashamed of what I look like, but maybe I will show pictures in the future.I plan on starting tomorrow because I already ate today and didn't count cals. Ideally I'd like to be exercising twice a day, and work down to about 350-500 calories per day, as well as incorporate a vegan diet. As of right now I am completely sedentary, and I'm not sure how many calories I am consuming per day. I would estimate about 2000. Anyways, thank you for reading, I'll be posting updates as often as I can!

PS! I'm turning 20 this winter and my pronouns are they/them and she/her.

        Accountability day 0:

I forgot to post here for a bit, then got triggered and decided to weight myself. 190. I haven't seen a number that big on the scale in my whole life. I am starting fresh and I vow to never be this heavy again. Checking in tomorrow with food and exercise stats.

Did not count calories today, had a quarter of a bagel, two pieces of pizza and a 12oz coffee shake. Walked around town a lot, which hopefully balances everything out. I feel so unattractive at my current weight, if anyone has tips they'd like to share, please let me know! You can post here or pm me. <3 Hoping tomorrow is a better day.

Day 5: I started working, so I calculated about 15 extra hours on my feet/standing per week. I have been really bad about calorie counting as of recently, but I have been eating smaller portions and have been incorporating more fruits and veggies. So, after these past few days, I decided to weigh in. 183.8!! I am nowhere near my goal, but I've lost over 6 pounds this week and I'm so excited to see more improvements!!
