I can't tell if this is just chalked up to Korean society things or if JYP is for some reason not restricting them from saying stuff that points to disordered eating but. honestly, because i have an ED i dont MIND them being so open abt it, tho on skzbbl/fansign convos where they do stuff, a lot of get phrased as advice to fans, though i think it gives a glimpse of how they get/maintain these low weights we see in idols. instead of "XX is naturally skinny! (Group) orders food all the time! hehe we're just like you" form yesteryear at least theyre actually straight up like "oh to look good for this stage i didn't eat anything for a week". like esp when BP (fans mostly) pushed the naturally skinny "they eat so much" narrative it gives a false hope to young fans that weighing 45kg at 5'5 is easily attainable and easily maintained

jyp has always been worse than their reputation in a way? kinda telling how open it is though i agree.

here is min (miss a) on the right talking about weight-loss-hormone shots, bulimia, lax and how she was grounded when she was over 105lbs as a trainee. her debut was in 2010.

the girl on the left was under a different company (WA Entertainment, what is now known as RBW) but her weight-loss-hormone shot story is insane.

In this particular video, @0:15 she's running on the treadmill at the gym at 1:15 AM. This reminds me so much of myself (albeit not as of late). I starve myself most days, then I hit the gym after work and late at night sometimes despite not eating enough during the day...

i think they are all disordered to some extent but chaeryeong is on another level. i don't think anyone can be in izty without some form of disordered eating some more, some less and some have a full blown ED.... but chaeryeong suggesting ppl (aka their fans who are often really young) should try out a sweatsuit is a choice that's for sure.

also the twist plank she showed is my least fav of all planks like i prefer up-n-down, sideplank and pretty much any annoying form of plank over that one cause that one gives me back issues if i do it too frequently :/

i also have a hard time believing yeji isn't a gym regular. idk skinnyfit girls that put such an empahsize on the junk food they buy are instantly suss to me which is probably unhealthy of me.

Agreed, @4:05 in my previously posted vid Yeji says "It suddenly popped into my head how MIDZY writes they don't worry I'd skip meals. They always end their letters with that." To me, that was her backhanded way of saying, "Thanks, everyone, for not thinking I have issues with eating... clearly I look healthy to you all." But this is complete speculation and probably not at all what she meant. It's just what my disordered brain heard.

I personally preferred this song over step back! I think the beat was a lot more my style, n I found the "baby baby baby baby" bit more catchy than the bits in step back.

yea it's kinda wild how some people look the same (snsd's seohyun or kara's seungyeon) meanwhile others change a lot but i also understand that the pressure in the business must probably be insane :/

personally i didn't really like either of the songs but i prefer stomp on it because i didn't like the step back backtrack.

is close to the weight she gave for Yeji 48.2. Idk why I feel like that number didn't just come out of nowhere lol.

Honestly as terrible as it is I am really loving their recent content but only for selfish ed reasons. It's definitely not great that they keep mentioning their weight, dieting, habits etc, but I also love hearing about it and tell me more 🥴

I'm still shocked that this much dieting content is coming out unchecked. It shows though just how much they think about and talk about food and eating and weight for there to be content like this almost every video they have. It's like second nature for them which looks pretty disordered to me.

46kg at 170cm would put Yuna's BMI at 15.9...

I seriously hate how indecisive I am. I go through weeks at a time wanting to lift weights and get tons of protein in to get fit. Then I’ll see a girl who’s so skinny she’s honestly flat and it’s so pretty I spend the new few weeks obsessed with Pilates and eating less. I just know that even if I hit my goal weight I’d still feel like total crap about myself at times.

people hate her for anything she does. the only thing she is praised for is being pretty. surely that can‘t be good for her mental health.

Guysss yesterday I saw the bts concert in the cinema and I must say, they’re amazing!! Loved the show, ppl were screaming, dancing and crying lol

I must say tho they had really strong filters on their faces, I noticed when they would start talking or on more slow songs when they would do a zoom on bts’s faces. Like, it’s too the point of the screen looking like it was dirty or smth from looking so blurred. Aside from this it was a 10/10 experience!

Guysss yesterday I saw the bts concert in the cinema and I must say, they’re amazing!! Loved the show, ppl were screaming, dancing and crying lol

I must say tho they had really strong filters on their faces, I noticed when they would start talking or on more slow songs when they would do a zoom on bts’s faces. Like, it’s too the point of the screen looking like it was dirty or smth from looking so blurred. Aside from this it was a 10/10 experience!

Have you seen this article? The height and weight that they mention would put her BMI at 14.3. It is quite shocking that koreaboo would praise her for losing this much weight.

i don't have much other "proof" of idols weights, if others find other videos like this let me know.

i have a theory that they restrict their eating from a young age so they don't ever develope typical female fat or muscle distributions , so they stay so lean into their adult lives.

Am I crazy for thinking Koreans somehow get cosmetic surgery to make their collarbones 'pop'? It's like no matter how much a Korean idol or actress weighs, they all have prominent collarbones... it just seems a little sus to me. I understand that most of them are underweight but some aren't, and the degree to which their collarbones stand out seem eerily similar in a cosmetically-altered kind of way. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some shot or injection they get to enhance the appearance of their collarbones.

It's cuz they are dehydrated af. Your bones tend to pop more when u don't hydrate even at larger weights. It's why body builders don't drink water for a long time before competing in shows, so that their muscle (or bones for the skinny folk) will be more visible. I've seen lots of instances where idols admit to not having water before a shoot or promotion.

Taeyeon looks unwell honestly. I can't imagine her health is great with her weight. Combo of her gauntness, thin hair, and overall kind of lifeless look. I know the paleness is partially from injections but also partially from being so low weight. I hope people around her step in honestly...

but very skinny, shorter idols fly under the radar pretty much although under that one taeyeon post there were a lot of concerned people like a month or two ago (i don't check her ig super regularly)

I havent been into blackpink for a while (as a stan but still am a casual fan), but this performance was amazing. I love classical music so this combination for me was great. Everytime I see them I just keep thinking "wasted potential", yes theyre super famous and big but that doesnt last forever, groups like IVE and NewJeans are already getting a lot of attention (they were on the top most searched kpop ggs for last month I think), but more importantly, they could achieve so much more as artists, all the songs now are about being famous and rich, theres no personality to most of bp's song. I want to know more of what they think and believe.

yeah same, it also deeply upsets me how much yg wasted blackpink's potential despite how huge they are. remember when there was still hope that they would have more than one comeback a year? lmfaooo. also not rlly letting them having any creative control is pretty messed up. and yea i wish teddy would stop producing the exact same song.

tho i don't really like to assume anything about the tour.. i still feel like a lot of the "bp tour sucks/they aren't passionate" allegations was just another addition to the hate train considering how the actual concert goers enjoyed themselves and the amount of tour footage showing them performing very well, but ofc that's not what goes viral... idk i just think it's kinda unfair other idols on tour can have compilations of mistakes and it's a "cute and funny moment" but when it's blackpink they're "lazy and untalented" shrug
